A pilot plant is a small-scale process installation that includes all process steps that you ultimately need in your factory. This enables you to accurately coordinate these process steps and to optimize the process conditions in order to obtain the best, purest and/or most economical possible end product. Moreover, you can already make small quantities of your new product to carry out follow-up tests and measurements or to put it on the market as a sample. With a pilot plant, endurance tests can also be performed to identify and remedy teething problems. Eventually you can implement lessons learned that emerge from the tests in the process, before actually applying the process on a large scale.
